Tinubu's 2023 Campaign: We Were Used and Abandoned – Lalude Laments Broken Promise of N1.5m Each by MC Oluomo

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that Veteran Nollywood actor, Fatai Adekunle Adetayo, popularly known as Lalude, has accused the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo), of failing to fulfil financial pledge made to entertainers who campaigned for President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during the 2023 general elections.
OTN News further reports that Lalude, who alleged this while speaking on the 'Beyond the Fame' podcast, expressed disappointment over what he described as betrayal and abandonment by MC Oluomo, claiming he and fellow actors were promised ₦1.5 million each but received nothing after weeks of campaigning.
Lalude, famed for his traditional priest roles in Yoruba films, recounted how he and comedian Ganiu Nafiu, popularly known as Alapini, were accommodated and mobilized for the APC campaign trail but were never compensated as agreed.
“We were camped for seven weeks. We trekked long distances every day while MC Oluomo followed us in his car. In the end, we were abandoned,” Lalude said bitterly.
According to him, they were initially given ₦10,000 daily for feeding, but that stipend was suddenly discontinued without explanation.
“MC promised me and Alapini ₦1.5 million each. He asked us to state whatever amount we wanted and assured us we would be paid. But till today, we have not received a kobo,” he stated.
“We finished the work and no dime was given to us. Is it good?” he asked?
He further condemned the treatment meted out to them, warning that the same group may return to solicit support from entertainers ahead of the 2027 elections.
“Whoever is behind these misdeeds will not prosper. I know they will still come to us by 2027, and we are waiting for them,” he said.
OTN News recalls that, Lalude’s revelation follows recent expressions of regret by other veteran Nollywood figures, including Alapini himself and actress Bukky Adekogbe Raji, also known as Aminatu Papapa, who publicly distanced themselves from their past support for President Tinubu.
As of the time of filing this report, MC Oluomo has not publicly responded to the allegations.
