Terrorists Kidnap High Court Judge, Wife, Driver, Escort

In a shocking turn of event, Terrorists have kidnapped a High Court Judge, Justice Haruna Mshelia, his wife, driver and orderly along Biu to Maiduguri road on Monday, June 24, 2024.

OPEN TELEVISION Naija gathered that the Judge who is working with Borno State High Court in Maiduguri was traveling with his wife and his esort when they were abducted by the terrorists who are suspected Boko Haram members.

Sources explained that as they approached a curve on the road between Buratai and Buni-gari, a group of armed men emerged from the bush and barricaded the road.

Furthermore, the judge’s vehicle was said to have screeched to a halt, then attempted to manoeuvre its way to escape from the scene.

Unfortunately, in the chaos that ensued, Justice Mshelia’s vehicle was stopped by another team of insurgents, taken them hostage and later whisked them into Sambisa Forest.

Recall that Damaturu- Buni Yadi -Buratai- Biu a sentiment of 120kms road has remained a death trap for many years, considering its deplorable condition faced by motorists and passengers, as it is the only route that links over five local government areas of Southern Borno (Biu, Hawul, Bayo, Shani, Kwaya Kusar etc) to Maiduguri, the state capital due to inability to reopen the Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu road.

As at the time of filing this report, no negotiation has been initiated by the terrorists.
