Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, has expelled a 200-level student of the Computer Science Department, Ojo Michael Ogunsiyi for falsifying his CGPA in a bid to run for a Student Union position (SUG), alongside 82 others students who were handed letters of expulsion and indefinitely suspension respectively for various offenses, including forgery, examination malpractice, and threats to life.

These disciplinary actions were disclosed by the University’s Registrar, Mr. Dapo Oke, in a statement on Tuesday.

OPEN TELEVISION Naija (OTN) News gathered that the penalties were the result of investigations carried out by the Examination Malpractice and Students’ Disciplinary Committee.

After reviewing the committee's findings, the University's Senate approved the recommended actions during its statutory meeting on July 31, 2024.

Top among those who were disciplined is a 200-level student from the Computer Science Department, Ojo Michael, who was expelled for falsifying his CGPA in a bid to run for a Student Union position.

His case was one of several highlighted in the Registrar's statement.

Seventeen (17) other students were expelled for engaging in examination malpractice, while five (5) were removed for making life-threatening threats.

Additionally, one student faced expulsion for fraudulent activities.

These actions underscore the University's commitment to maintaining academic integrity and safety on campus.

Moreover, 47 students were handed indefinite suspensions for various misconducts, and another 10 were suspended for impersonation. These suspensions are part of a broader effort by the University to enforce discipline and uphold its standards.

The affected students have been ordered to stay away from the University premises.

OTN News gathered that the institution has warned that any student who disregards this is directive would face legal action and the involvement of the University ’s security personnel.
