Politics: Atiku Abubakar Hosts Peter Obi in Adamawa, Muse Merger Plans for Defeating Ruling APC in Future Elections

Former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has recently hosted the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at his residence in Adamawa State, mapping out strategies for a possible merge to wrench power from the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in future elections. 

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the meeting which was disclosed in a video shared by Atiku on X.com, featured the two leaders, alongside others, seated together at a dining table, ready to have their meal.

OTN News further reports that, Obi’s visits were reported to be his first meeting with his former political allies after he defected from the PDP to LP in May 2022.

Speaking on the reason for such meeting, the Chief Spokesman of Obi’s Presidential Campaign Organisation, Yunusa Tanko, explained that the discussions during those meetings with the PDP bigwigs were focused on how to rescue the ’soul of Nigeria’ from the clutch of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

In a similar fashion, Obi had reportedly visited the former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, and the former President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki, at their homes in Abuja in May.
