PDP Shuns Sealed Party Secretariat, Holds Meetings in Alternate Locations

Ahead of its crucial National Executive Committee (NEC) session scheduled for Tuesday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has convened its meetings at alternative locations within the FCT, following the sealing up of its national secretariat.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that the party’s National Caucus gathered at the Bauchi State Government Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, while the Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting, initially planned for the secretariat, was relocated to Legacy House, the party’s presidential campaign office situated in the Maitama District of the capital.

The development, which follows the sealing of the PDP headquarters by officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) earlier in the day, over unpaid ground rents, has generated ripples in the political space in the country as the action by the FCTA M is widely believed to be connected to recent tensions between the party and Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, who on Sunday threatened to fight for justice within the party.

OTN News recalls that the FCT Minister had also on Sunday, announced his withdrawal from all peace agreements previously reached within the major opposition party that has been enmeshed in crisis.
