Omotola Kuku Emerges First Female President of Rotaract Club of Laderin-Hilltop

Popular Abeokuta based entrepreneur and CEO/Founder of Classy Events, Rtn. Omotola Kuku has been sworn in as the fifth President and first female President of swear-in as the 5th and first female President of Rotary Club Of Laderin-Hilltop, to steer the affairs of the frontline humanitarian club for the year 2025/2026 tagged “United year”.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that Kuku was sworn in on Sunday 7th of December, 2025 at MITROS RESIDENCE, Ibara GRA, Ibara, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital at a well attended event which also saw the induction of board of directors and new members of the club.

OTN News further reports that meritorious awards were at the event, give. to notable individuals amid amid fundraising for proposed projects by the Kuku-led executive committee of the club.

Rotary club is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vacations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

In her acceptance speech, Omotola Kuku, who appreciated everyone present at the investiture recalled that, she joined the club in 2022 and the journey has been worthwhile, saying she received so much respects for been a member of the club and she is proud to be part of the family.

She seized the ocassion to highlight some notable projects that will be carried out within one year of her tenure which includes building blocks of classrooms for a newly accredited community school, construction of Speedbumps, ATM and a Bus stop at the entrance of Laderin market.

She, however, implored the Rotarians to support and unite with her in achieving the goals, emphasizing that their support cannot be overlook towards the success of her tenure.

The guest speaker of the day, Prof. Olugbenga Kehinde in his lecture tittled “The Road Ahead” charged the members to support the new president and called for unity amongst them, as he described unity as a fuel for the One year journey and must be intentional in building the clube the way they want it, adding that, every club has issues but surmounting it depends on how they handle it.

Prof. Olugbenga said Omotola Kuku's emergence as the first female president a good opportunity for the club, and stressed that, women known as builders at home, communities and religion centres, maintaining that, choosen her as president not a mistake or coincidence but she needs their prayer, corporation and constructive criticism.

Other clubs present included:Rotary Club of Rock City, Rotary Club of Abeokuta Metro, Rotary Club of Abeokuta, Rotary Club of Royale, Rotary Club of Olumo Sunrise, Rotary Club Of Ibara GRA and Rotary Club Of Elega.

Also, in attendance were past and present presidents of clubs; Representative of District Head, Rtn. Festus Adetowa; Prof. Rtn. Micheal Agbaje; Mother of new president, Chief Mrs. Ajoke Carolina Enikuomehin; Rtn. Fausiya Olajuwon; Chief Charles Olu Shobayo; Dr. Bayo Adenekan; Amb. Adetokunbo Yusuf and host of others.

OTN News recalls that the new President of Rotary Club Of Laderin-Hilltop, in addition to her activities in the humanitarian club has earned a reputation for the organisation of social entrepreneurship events such as annual Christmas fun fare for children over the years.
