The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for honouring Nigeria’s Overall Best Primary School Teacher, Mr. Solanke Francis Taiwo, with a brand-new car and a two-bedroom bungalow under the State Housing Scheme.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that NAOSS, under the leadership of its President, Aare Oluwafemi Ajayi popularly known as FM Castro, said the recognition reflects a government that values excellence, invests in educators’ welfare, and inspires students across the state to strive for academic and professional success.

The students association highlighted that Mr. Taiwo’s reward celebrates exceptional dedication, innovation, and positive impact in teaching, reinforcing a culture where hard work and merit are acknowledged.

Aare Ajayi also commended the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbagbu, and the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, for their ongoing efforts to strengthen education and support student welfare in Ogun State.

Representing Ogun State students nationwide, the association reaffirmed its confidence in Governor Abiodun’s leadership and pledged support for his political ambitions beyond 2027, with student mobilization already underway across various campuses and youth networks.

In the same statement, NAOSS made a respectful appeal for the urgent release of the 2026 bursary. The association stressed that students have resumed academic activities and require immediate financial support to meet educational expenses, which is critical to reducing academic-related stress and encouraging optimal performance.

“A government that invests in both educators and students fosters opportunity, achievement, and progress,” President Ajayi FM Castro said. “NAOSS will continue to support initiatives that empower youth, promote education, and drive the growth of Ogun State.”

The gesture has been widely welcomed among students and education stakeholders, reinforcing the importance of recognizing excellence and providing tangible support to both teachers and learners.
