The Ogun State Chapter of the Military and Paramilitary Public Relations Forum (MILPOPROF) has announced that it has been thrown into a state of deep sorrow following the shocking and painful news of the demise of one of its esteemed members, Chief Route Commander (CRC) Florence Nkenu Okpe.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the Chairperson, Ogun State MILPOPROF, CSP Omolola Odutola in a press statement said that "On the 28th of October, 2025, at about 1400 hours, the Ogun State Chapter of the Military and Paramilitary Publicì⁷ Relations Forum (MILPOPROF) was thrown into deep sorrow following the shocking and painful news of the demise of one of its esteemed members, Chief Route Commander (CRC) Florence Nkenu Okpe.

According to the forum Chairperson, "Reports confirmed that she passed away at about 0700 hours on the same date," adding that Florence, as she was fondly called by friends and colleagues, was born on 31st December, 1974.

Until her passing, she served as the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, a position she discharged with exceptional professionalism, dedication, and efficiency. A proud native of Ogoja in Rivers State, Florence was known for her humility, warmth, and unwavering commitment to duty.

The forum observed that "Her remarkable journey in law enforcement began in her twenties when she joined the Federal Road Safety Corps in 1998 as a young, intelligent, and disciplined officer. She graduated with distinction and consistently upheld the Corps’ high standards of discipline and service. Her brilliance and strong work ethics later earned her conversion as a Cadet Officer in 2005. With the guidance and mentorship of senior corps officers, she attended the Senior Staff Training, where she once again distinguished herself and graduated with outstanding performance.

In the course of her illustrious career, Florence had the honour of serving her fatherland in several states of the federation, including Edo, Lagos, and Ogun States. In Ogun, she served as the Spokesperson of the Command, entrusted with the responsibility of informing and educating citizens about the and safety programs of the FRSC. Until her demise, she was the RS2 Command Public Education Officer (SPEO) — a role she carried out with grace, eloquence, and unquestionable competence.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Chapter of the Military and Paramilitary Relations Forum (MILPOPROF) has since paid a condolence visit to the FRSC Ogun State Command, where members signed the condolence register opened in her honour and extended.
