Ogun Deputy Governor Bags  Engineering Fellow Award

The Executive Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has been honoured with a Fellowship award of the Nigerian Association of Engineering Craftsmen, in recognition of her achievements in the Engineering profession.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the Award, which is the highest distinguished honour of the Association, was conferred on the Deputy Governor during the 29th National Engineering Conference/AGM in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, and formally presented to her at her Oke-Mosan Government office in Abeokuta.

In her remarks, the Deputy Governor, appreciated the Association for the award, stating that the body would be an uptick in the demand for certified skilled men, who in their chosen endeavours were principal drivers of the nation’s economy and the world at large.

In her words, “When people are looking for the best qualified people to do their work, with your organisation and the profile you are setting up for yourself, I am sure that employers will look for organisations like yours, to certify people for them or even employ for their services”, she said.

Engr. Salako-Oyedele stated that the current administration in the state was committed to supporting skill acquisition, through its government Technical, Vocational Colleges and training centres, as well as partnering with organisations and private individuals through Public Private Partnership initiative, in order to ensure better quality of life for the citizenry.

Before presenting the award to the Deputy Governor on behalf of the association, the pioneer National Vice President of the Association, Engr. Craftsman Mathew Ajayi, applauded the Deputy Governor for accepting the award, saying her contributions in Engineering sector cannot be overemphasised.

He also commended the state government for its drive at uplifting citizens of the state, adding that the Association would also focus on empowering craftsmen in the state .

 He further revealed that that plans were underway by Federal Government to train Craftsmen under the ‘Nigerian Skill qualification framework’, with its formal gazetting into the Federal Civil Service, revealing that at it was at the implementation stage at the Federal Ministry of Establishments.
