Nigerian Polytechnic Graduate Invents Cooker Operating with Water and Fuel Mixture
By: Olufemi Orunsola
A Nigerian Polytechnic graduate has invented a cooker that operates using a mixture of water and premium motor spirit popularly known as fuel at ratio 80:20.
See the inventor, Manume Nicholas with his invention, cooker using water and fuel.
The young Nigerian revealed that he produced the cooker that runs on a mixture of water and petrol in order to mitigate the harsh effects of the high cost of cooking gas and fuel in the country.
According to Nicholas, the cooker which uses 80 per cent water and 20 per cent fuel actually took him about two months to conduct the research leading to the invention.
Asked how efficient his invention is, Nicholas, who studied Architecture at Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, responded that it is not only efficient, its portability is an added advantage for Nigerians.
He further revealed that the cooker is safe for use and works efficiently, and it cost him about N10,000 to produce a unit.
The Rivers state born inventor explained that he has been doing research on so many things which he did not originally study in school.
In his words: "It is my talent and I intend to produce it in mass before it hits the market.”
“It’s portable and can be carried around in a bag. The target is to make a mobile cooker that suits vacations and for students.”
The young talented inventor also said he needed financial sponsorship to achieve mass production of the cooker.
“I am planning to produce the bigger ones for industrial and domestic uses. It is durable and efficient, is pot-friendly and can be used anywhere,” Nicholas said with confidence.
“Though it has not hit the market yet but it will soon, I am avoiding premature selling of my idea. That’s why am looking for a partnership.”
“It is very safe. The water plays a major role in splitting the components,” he added.
Open Television , Naija observes that many talented inventors in Nigeria have been seeking funds from the government and other wealthy individuals to produce in large quantities.
It would be recalled that Open Television recently reported the Tech-based invention of a Nigerian female engineer, Kemisola Bolarinwa, who invented a smart bra that can detect breast cancer of which she equally made a passionate plea on the need for funding of her research works towards mass production and commercialization of the invention.
Open Television therefore calls on the Federal Government and well-meaning, high net worth Nigerians to seriously consider investment in young creative investors in the country before they get hijacked by foreign investors or become outrightly stranded, frustrated and discouraged due to lack of access to funding for their creative innovations.
