MAPOLY Set to Honour OGUNINVEST DDG,Sola Arobieke, Rites Foods CEO, Seleem Adegunwa, Selected Old Students at MMDE Awards 2024

As part of efforts geared towards promotion of entrepreneurship and connecting the industry with the academia, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MAPCED) is set to host the maiden edition of Made-in-Mapoly Distinguished Entrepreneurs Awards, where Ogun INVEST DDG, Ms Sola Arobieke, Rites Foods Limitrd CEO, Mr.Seleem Adegunwa and many old students of the will be recognized for their entrepreneurial strides.

A statement released by the Coordinator, Training, Extension Services and Consultancy of the Centre, who doubles as the Chairman, Central Planning Committee of the event, Mr.Olufemi Orunsola, has it that, the Management of the institution has graciously approved the hosting of the landmark entrepreneurship promotion event which aims at connecting the town-with-the-gown entrepreneurship wise.

The Training, Extension Services & Consultancy Coordinator, revealed that the Central Planning Committee(CPC) of the Campus-wide Entrepreneurship Promotion event chose popular Nollywood Actor, Dr.Hafiz Oyetoro, as the Guest Lecturer of the Maiden Made-in-Mapoly Distinguished Entrepreneurs (MMDE) Awards and Exhibitions because of his impressive entrepreneurial and academic backgrounds, noting that he represents a role model who can do justice to the theme of the event, SKILLS: NOT JUST DEGREES!

Mr. Orunsola further revealed that the Special Adviser to the Ogun Governor on Investments who also doubles as Deputy Director General ofvOgun State Investment Promotion Agency (OGUNINVEST), Ms Sola Arobieke is expected as Special Guest of Honour at the event while the Chief Executive Officer of Rite Foods Limited, Dr.Seleem Adegunwa is scheduled to be recognized as Role Model Entrepreneur of the Year.

Also, popular Nollywood Actress and box office record breaker, Funke Akindele (Jenifa) who once studied Mass Communication at the Prestigious Polytechnic, is also one of the nominees of the MMDE Awards.

In the Corporate brands category of the maiden Made-in-Mapoly Distinguished Entrepreneurs Awards, Mr.Orunsola added that Ogun-state based leading manufacturing company, Rite Foods Limited targeted to headline sponsorship of the event is scripted for recognition as the Most Versatile Manufacturing Business of the Year in Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.

Similarly, Mobile Classroom Limited and DOIT Services, both into Educational Value Added Services provision, have proudly identified and partnered with Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta to float the Campus-wide Entrepreneurship Promotion event. 

OTN News reliably gathered that the Entrepreneurship Development Centre, as part of its pre-event activities, recently floated a 3-day, Free but Certificated Entrepreneurship Training programme for female students of the institution in partnership with DOIT Services, MasterCard Foundation and Jobberman Certified 3-Day Entrepreneurship Training between Tuesday 15th and Thursday 17th October, 2024 at the 1,500 Hall C and 800-seater halls of the Polytechnic respectively.

Other highpoints of the entrepreneurship promotion event scheduled to take place on Wednesday 30th October, 2024 are: Exhibitions of Businesses owned and operated by students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta and the Commissioning of a Social Entrepreneurship Solar Power System project put in place at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MAPCED) courtesy Entrepreneurship students of the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic and Computer Science Department by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji who will be led by the Director of the Centre, Arc Dr. Olabisi Baiyewu for the commissioning exercise.

The maiden edition of the Made-in-Mapoly Distinguished Entrepreneurs Awards 2024 will climax with the delivery of an Entrepreneurship Development Lecture by popular Nollywood Actor and Lecturer, Dr. Hafiz Oyetoro, who is expected to do justice to the theme of the event: "SKILLS! NOT JUST DEGREES!" and the presentation of awards, in various categories, to corporate brands, selected old students/alumni of the institution, current entrepreneurship students of the Polytechnic, as well as Entrepreneurship Facilitators in the state-owned Polytechnic.

 **Funke Akindele (Jenifa),* who once studied Mass Communication at the Polytechnic in recognition of her outstanding Box office record-breaking strides and entrepreneurship moves in the Nollywood industry;

**Alhaji Ayinde Soaga* , a celebrated Broadcaster, Broadcast Manager formerly with the NTA for his entrepreneurial strides at the first Abuja-based Agricultural Radio and Television Station in Nigeria, ARCN;

 **Adedoyin Kukoyi* (Gbajumo Osere TV Host), recognized for her media entrepreneurship strides and as CEO of Doyin TV

 **Barr. Abdul-Hafeez Atanda-Shoremi* , a Lagos-based Successful Lawyer and Real Estate Entrepreneur who is the National President of the Ojere Igbayen Social Club Alumni set of 1997.

 **Mr.Korede Lawal* , a Taxation Expert/Consultant based in Ogun State;

 **Mr.Adeola Yusuf,* (CEO Platforms Africa) who is being recognized for his successful journalism career spanning over two decades, with multiple journalism and non-journalism based awards to his credit;

 **Dr.Adeyinka Adegbite* , a seasoned multiple award winning Yoruba broadcast journalist, CEO, Omo Baba Tisa (OBT) Media billed to be recognized for his outstanding business opportunities/Entrepreneurship education in Yoruba language on Radio;

 **Bola Solate-Ayedun,* a serial entrepreneur billed to be recognized for her outstanding entrepreneurship strides in Ogun-based businesses such as the Public Faces Magazine, M-19 Events, ChopLife Brands and M-19 Consults;

 **Hon.Lamide Lawal* , a youth leader who has been involved in social crusading for youths since his days as a student leader at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta billed to be recognized for his consistent social Entrepreneurship initiatives and youth development strides. Lamide Lawal is the National President, All Progressives Congress, APC Youth League;

 **Mr.Akeem Adeola Salami* , an outstanding educational Technopreneur who earned national reputation as Nigeria's number 1 educational Technopreneur during the COVID-19 era with his Mobile Classroom App with the Federal Ministry of Education partnering with him to sustain quality education throughout the lock down phases for Nigerian students. He has since diversified his educational Technopreneurship efforts towards tertiary institutions via his Virtual Tests series, which has attracted partnership from many universities across the country;

 **Olamide Quadri* , a Real Estate Investor and Successful Events Planner with close to a decade of outstanding delivery in the industry;

 **Igwe Sylvester Theresa* , a successful make up/make over beautician with over a decade of successful stride in the beautification business who has consistently given back to Alma mater by training and empowering many young ladies for free over the years.
