Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has taken on the care of 95 orphans, pledging full support during a special lunch held in honor of Independence Day.

In a statement released by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Mr. Sanusi Tofa, Governor Yusuf announced his commitment to cover the orphans' education, healthcare, feeding, and other needs from primary through tertiary levels throughout his tenure.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) gathered that the event took place at the State orphanage, where the children, who lost their parents, are currently housed.

He emphasized his intention to treat the orphans as important individuals, ensuring they receive full benefits, care, and the opportunity to reach their potential.

The Governor also donated food items worth millions of naira for the welfare of the orphans, marking a significant moment for the 54-year-old orphanage.

“You are now my children, I will take care of you as my own. You will begin to feel the good side of life, in sha Allah,” Yusuf assured the children.
