Ibadan Stampede: Agidigbo FM CEO, Oriyomi Hamzat Finally Regains Freedom

Information reaching the desk of OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News has it that the CEO of Agidigbo FM, Oriyomi Hamzat has regained his freedom after meeting bail conditions.
OTN News reports that this new development was disclosed in a video posted on X on Tuesday, where Hamzat was seen amid a group of people many of whom are excited to see him free from lockup.
OTN News recalls that on Monday, January 13, 2025, the Oyo State High Court granted bail to Hamzat; the ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife, Naomi Silekunola; and the principal of the Islamic High School, Basorun, Ibadan, Fasasi Abdullahi.
The three are standing trial for their alleged roles in a stampede that claimed over 30 lives at a funfair in Ibadan in December in which most of the victims were children.
However, on Tuesday, Hamzat is seen in a video addressing the people who were happy to see him again, he said in Yoruba which is translated to, “Oriyomi is back! I’m in a time of reflection, so I’ll remain silent for now. Thank you very much; I’m truly grateful. You may take your leave.”
