“I don't drive Rolls-Royce....Didn't Steal Government Money" Says Amaechi

In a move that smacks of indicting FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike who came under pubpic criticism for riding an exotic Rolls Royce car, former Governor of Rivers State and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has announced that he never stole public funds but lives a modest life despite holding high political office for many years.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that Amaechi made this known while speaking in an interview with Channels TV.
He refuted claims that he is living in opulence or owns an extensive collection of properties, emphasizing that he has always tried to maintain a humble lifestyle, even when powerful allies offered him luxury gifts.
“I don't drive Rolls-Royce. John Mbata gave me one in 2014 but till today I have not driven it,” Amaechi revealed during the interview.
His statement was intended to illustrate his disinterest in material excess, even when such luxuries were within his reach unlike Wike who has reportedly been spotted riding an expensive, luxurious Rolls Royce car.
Amaechi also challenged Nigerians to verify his record in office, insisting that his stewardship as governor and minister was marked by transparency and a focus on delivering results.
The former minister’s comments is coming amid increasing public scrutiny of former government officials and their post-office lifestyles.
