Eko For Show: Lagos Begins Stakeholder Meetings For Purple Rail Line Project

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has begun stakeholders engagement meeting as the first step in planning towards the proposed Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Purple Line project.
OTN News further reports that this new development was made known via a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Lagos Governor, Jubril Gawat, on Tuesday, February 04.
According to the statement, a team from LAMATA visited Ikeja and Agege Local Government Areas as well as Ojodu Local Council Development Authority to initiate discussions with local stakeholders today.
The 57km Purple rail line will stretch from Redemption Camp in Ogun State to Volkswagen area along the Lagos Badagry Expressway, featuring 17 stations.
The statement reads: “The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (#Lamataonline) has begun stakeholder engagement meetings as a precursor to scoping activities for the proposed Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Purple Line project.
“PURPLE LINE: 57km rail line stretching from Redemption Camp in Ogun State to Volkswagen area along the Lagos Badagry Expressway, will feature 17 stations. It is designed to integrate with the Red Line at Agege, the Blue Line at Volkswagen, and the Yellow Line at Isheri-Osun, creating a comprehensive and interconnected public transportation network.
“A team from LAMATA visited Ikeja and Agege Local Government Areas as well as Ojodu Local Council Development Authority to initiate discussions with local stakeholders today. The Purple Line will cross cross two local governments in Ogun and five local governments and four other Local Development Areas.”
