Eid-el-fitr : Olota of Ota Felicitates Muslims, Charge Awori Sons, Daughters To Sustain the Gains of Ramadan

As Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-el-fitr to mark the end of Ramadan 2025, His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, Ph.D., MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode), Olofin Apesin Olode, Olota of the Paramount and Ancient Ottaland has congratulated muslims, urging Awori sons and daughters across the world to sustain the gains of the holy month of Ramadan.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the royal father gave this charge after joining distinguished sons and daughters of Otta at the Eid prayer ground where Ogun Deputy Governor, Engr.Mrs.Noimot Salako-Oyedele also joined worshippers to pray on Sunday.

OTN News further reports that in keeping faith with the age-long traditions of Ota kingdom, the Olota of Ota also received the Otta Muslim Community, led by the Grand Chief Imam, Sheikh Sabeeq Aina-Aladi at Ipeti Royal Square, Olota's Palace, Enu Owa, Otta. 

Oba Prof. Obalanlege praying for the kingdom said, "May Almighty Allah continue to bless and favour us all," adding that "Otta shall remain Great".

He further pronounced royal blessings of longevity on all Awori as he prayed in Yoruba language that "Emi Wa Ase Opolopo Odun Laaye!Barakallahu fihi!"

OTN News also reports that earlier, on Saturday, His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, Ph.D. had hosted a Grand Iftar to mark the end of Ramadan on Saturday, 29th March 2025, at Gbongan Oba Isiyemi, Ipeti Royal Square, Olota’s Palace, Enu Owa, Otta.

The Olota was joined by Her Royal Highness, Olori Oloruntoyin Obalanlege, to host the dignitaries who honoured the royal invitation to a Grand Iftar, a gesture deeply valued and appreciated by all.

Dignitaries and prominent Nigerians who graced the grand Iftar included: HRM Oba Ademola Eletu Ashorota, Onitele of Itele-Otta, Distinguished Members of Olota-in-Council and Kabiyesi Elegushi Otta.

Other notable figures in attendance were: Senator Akin Odunsi (Maiyegun of Otta), Hon. Tunji Ismail Akinosi (MHR & Aare Bobagunte of Otta), Hon. Akinpelu Aina (Baamofin of Otta), Grand Chief Imam, Sheikh Sabeeq Aina-Aladi, Hon. Chief Olayiwola Taiwo (Aare Ona Kakanfo), Hon. Chief Samuel Durojaiye Ayedogbon (Oga Nla of Otta), Elder Tunde Kasali, Hon. Kazeem Salako (KRS), Alhaji Ruhulahi Ajibola Salako (Olori Musulumi), Chief Mike (Ajiroba of Otta), Alhaji Abimbola Macaulay, Elder Fola Akinde, Imam Musiliu Tejidini (Imam Olota), Alhaja Mistura Bashorun, Hon. Mutairu(Leader AOLG Legislative), Dr. Saheed Adesunkanmi Oyede (Member, Ogun State Judiciary Commission), Chief Kassim Olatubosun, leading the Youth Constituency, Prince Adefolarin Ojugbele, and several important figures.

Also, in attendance were prominent Imams, Alfas, and other distinguished guests from across Ottaland.

The Grand Iftar, an annual tradition under the revered leadership of His Majesty, remains a powerful symbol of unity, faith, and communal harmony in Ottaland.

Expressing his appreciation to all who graced the occasion, Kabiesi Oba Prof. Obalanlege said, "We sincerely appreciate the presence of all attendees. May Almighty Allah reward you abundantly. Thanks for the honour."
