Easter Celebration: Benue Govt Declares 3 Days Work-Free Days For Civil Servants

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on Tuesday declared Thursday, Friday and Monday as work-free days across the state to celebrate the Easter season.
OTN News further reports that the governor disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, by the Secretary to the State Government, Serumun Aber.
According to him, “in recognition of the significance of the Easter Triduum to the Christian community in Benue State. The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has declared Thursday, Friday, and Monday as work-free days for all civil servants.”
OTN News observes that the decision, according to the statement is to enable civil servants to participate fully in the sacred celebrations and observances of the Easter Triduum, which holds deep spiritual significance for Christians around the world.
The statement added, “During these days, all government offices and ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) will be closed. We encourage all citizens to use this opportunity to reflect, recharge, and spend quality time with their loved ones.
“The Governor extends his warmest wishes to all Christians in Benue State and beyond, praying that the Easter celebrations bring joy, peace, and spiritual renewal to all.
“May we emerge from this period of reflection and celebration rejuvenated and strengthened in our faith and service to humanity and a determination for a greater Benue”, the statement read in parts.
