The wife of former President of the United States of America, Michelle Obama has offered candid advice to women on selecting a life partner during an episode of the IMO podcast hosted by Elaine Welteroth, calling for shared responsibility among spouses.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that the former first lady, urged women to steer clear of men who dismiss cooking as an exclusive responsibility of women, saying, the phrase “I don’t cook” should be taken as as a red flag.
According to Michele Obama, such a stance reflected a deeper unwillingness to share the load of domestic life. She painted a picture of marriage as a partnership where both parties needed to be hands-on, ready to step into each other’s roles when necessary.
In her words, "You don’t want to marry a man who’s like 'I don’t cook'.
OTN News observes that Michelle Obama's marital advisory is coming in the wake of a recent report that the former American first lady was out to divorce her husband, Barack Obama but in subsequent posts by the couple, the couple's divorce reports have been discarded as mere rumours.
