Chaos at Rivers Govt House Over Looting Allegation Against Sole Administrator Ibas

Amid the announcement of the restoration of Rivers State Governor and other elected officers to office by President Tinubu, a chaotic scenario has cropped up at the Rivers State government house.
In a viral video that surfaced online on Wednesday sighted by OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News, a group of security personnel at the Rivers State Government House on Wednesday were seen accusing the outgoing Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas (Rtd), of attempting to move state wealth away while they, who had worked with him for six months lament their being left to go away empty-handed.
The security officers could be seen protesting their alleged deprivation in a chaotic cacophony of loud voices.
"We are not doing again,” one officer screams, as they all claimed they were being left empty-handed while Ibas allegedly sought to depart with resources.
It would be recalled that Ibas was appointed by President Bola Tinubu on March 18 to serve a six-month mandate following the political crisis between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, now FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Ibas had conducted the local government elections, which were largely won by Wike’s loyalists.
Following the reconciliation between Wike and Fubara, President Tinubu, who was earlier on a leave abroad, had cut short his stay and returned to Nigeria.
Expectedly, President Tinubu announced the restoration of Rivers State democratically elected government on Wednesday.
