Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed Flays FG After Flood Cuts Kano-Maiduguri Expressway into Two, Threatens To Fix It If FG Fails to Act

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has flayed the Federal Government after a massive flood literarily "cut the Kano-Maidugiri expressway into two", leaving several motorists and communities stranded. 

The incident, OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN), News gathered followed an heavy downpour which resulted in the massive flood that washed away a portion of the Kano-Maiduguri expressway, specifically between Malori and Guskuri Villages in Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Governor, Bala Mohammed, who paid a visit to the affected area on Thursday, August 8, made a strong appealed to the Federal Government to urgently intervene and move swiftly to fix the damaged portion of the major federal road. 

“The urgent intervention by the Federal Government is necessary to prevent accidents on the highway and mitigate other hardships.

We will inform the Federal Government about the washed-away portion of the Azare to Bulkachuwa dual carriageway, and if they fail to respond promptly, we will address it ourselves,” the governor said.

OTN News further reports that Nigerian Netizens have reacted massively and mostly critically against what they described as neglect of major federal roads by the the Federal Government as pictures of the scene of the flood disaster surfaced on social media platforms.
