Amid Hunger, Unemployment, British Launches Part-time, Full-time Job Opportunities for Students

In a bid to play part in tackling unemployment in the state amid harsh economy in the country, the British Transatlantic Polytechnic, Akure, Nigeria has announced that it is offering her students part-time and full-time work that will give students work experience and boost students’ employability and job prospect after graduation.
The Institution which disclosed this development earlier this week in a statement released on its official site, stated that students will work within the Polytechnic’s Business services including the Radio Station, Guest House, Media Agency and other core areas.
Furthermore, the institution recommended a maximum of 10 working hours per week during term time to fit around their studies, also stressing that students can work full time during holiday and they will be paid for this job.
The statement read: "We are pleased to announce that British Transatlantic Polytechnic, Akure, Nigeria is offering her students part-time work that can give students work experience and boost students’ employability and job prospect after graduation.
"Students will work within the Polytechnic’s Business services including the Radio Station, Guest House, Media Agency and so on.
"We recommend a maximum of 10 working hours per week during term time to fit around their studies. Students can work full time during holiday. Students will be paid for this job.
"IT & Media Technology support Assistants – priority will be given to students in Computer Science, Multimedia Technology and the Computer Engineering departments. Other students are welcome to apply.
"Creative and Digital Media Assistants- priority will be given to students in Multimedia Technology, Computer Science, the Computer Engineering and Mass Communication departments. Other students are welcome to apply.
"Editorial Assistants, Junior Journalists (News Brodcasters, News Editor and script Writers) – priority will be given to students in Multimedia Technology, and Mass Communication departments. Other students are welcome to apply.
"Receptionists and Front House Assistants – priority will be given to students in Hotel and Hospitality, Fashion & Clothing Technology, Accountancy departments. Other students are welcome to apply.
"Hostel Champion– – priority will be given to students in Hotel and Hospitality. Other students are welcome to apply.
However, on how to apply, the institution added "Interested students should submit an application letter to the Dean Students Affairs. Shortlist and Interview will be conducted on a rolling basis and successful students will be in the bank staff pool."
