As the world marks World Children's Day 2025, a child rights advocacy based non-governmental organization, African Children Voices, has announced activities to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of its establishment, rolling out a set of target commemorative programmes.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the NGO, which is fondly addressed as the ACV, was founded by Mr.Kola Obadimu (Junior) on November 19, 2000.

According to Mr.Obadimu (Junior), who is fondly known as KOJ, the ACV has trained no fewer than 4,000 Nigerian children since its establishment in the year 2000.

In his words, "African Children Voices clocks 25 years as the world children’s day is being celebrated. Over 4000 children passed through the tutelage of African Children Voices. They were taught how to defend their rights and speak for the rights of other children".

KOJ further revealed that the organization has earned a global reputation for being a child rights advocacy group fully recognized and supported by UNICEF, and multiple child rights development partners among which are: the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs, Ogun State Ministry of Justice, Federation of Women Lawyers, Penpushing Media, Nigerian Union of Journalists, many individuals and other relevant agencies.

Reflecting on the impacts of the ACV, Obadimu Jnr noted that "African Children Voices was instrumental to the passing of the child’s right bill by the Ogun State House of Assembly."

He further highlighted that the child’s-based organization participated in the 3rd Lagos Book and Art Festival, held at National Museum Lagos in September, 2003 where “THE STORY OF A NATION” a playlet written by Kola Obadimu Jnr, was performed and subsequently adapted for television by NTA Abeokuta with the support of UNICEF B-Field Office, Lagos’.

He also explained that African Children Voices has produced successful children who have grown into adults in various fields of endeavours such as law, medicine, arts, education, engineering, media, and other fields of study.

In addition to its outreaches to orphanages and vulnerable children, KOJ noted that the NGO has equally executed educational programmes like the Ogun Schools Debate in conjunction with Park Inn by Radisson Abeokuta and sponsorship by the Kenya Airways and Air Namibia, under his watch.

Highlighting commemorative activities for the 25th Anniversary of the ACV, KOJ revealed that in addition to African Child DTV talk show, The Chamver, and "I Have a Dream" previously executed, ACV is set for a new TV talk show focused on mentorship that will commence on November 19, 2025, coinciding with the 25th Anniversary of the African Children Voices.
