Afe Babalola: Dele Farotimi Not Spending Christmas in Prison After Meeting Bail Conditions

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the embattled activist and lawyer, Dele Farotimi is not spending his Christmas in the prison as he has regained his freedom after meeting his bail conditions.

OTN News further reports that the activist politician, Omoyele Sowore, who disclosed this on his X handle, formally Twitter, said that Farotimi was no longer at the prison yards in Ekiti State as he is returning to his home in Lagos.

He wrote: “I am pleased to report that Dele Farotimi is no longer being held at the prison yards in Ekiti state and is now returning home to Lagos. The struggle continues!”

OTN News had earlier reported that the lawyer was arrested earlier in the month for allegedly defaming Afe Babalola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, ABUAD.

Furthermore, he was charged for defamation which he was later remanded in a correctional centre in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

However, a few days ago, a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti granted Farotimi N30 million bail.
