2026 Year of Multiple Births for Nigerian Entertainers? Adekunle Gold, Ere Asalatu Welcome Twins, Triplets
The Nigerian entertainment industry recorded multiple deaths of its practitioners in the year 2025, a trend that peaked with the death of Allwell Ademola a few days to the end of the year. Year 2026 appears to have come to reverse that trend given the spates of multiple births recorded by the industry within the first week of the new year.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the new year 2026 has started on a good note for the Nigerian entertainment industry as the news of multiple baby deliveries hold sway within a few weeks in the year as popular Nigerian singer Adekunle Kosoko, also known as Adekunle Gold, has announced the safe delivery of a set of twin babies by his wife, Simi barely hours after broadcaster and musician, Yinka Ayefele congratulated Islamic Singer, Ere Asalatu on the delivery of a set of Triplets.
Ayefele in the tarse congratulatory message posted on his official Facebook page: Congratulations to the latest Baba Ibeti in town" meaning congratulations to the latest father of Triplets in town.
In the case of Adekunle Gold, the singer posted the goodnews via his Snapchat story during the week.
He wrote, “Asked God for another child and he blessed me double."
The news has attracted a fleet of congratulatory messages from fans and colleagues of the music couple.
It would be recalled that in December 2025, Simi had shared a clip on Instagram and captioned it, “From my baby, for my babies.”
OTN News sincerely congratulates the Nigerian entertainment industry and the concerned artistes, praying that the year will bring more of such good news to bear in the industry which suffered the deaths of many of its practitioners in the year 2025.
